Grangewood Lodge opened as a residential home in 1988 by Mr J.F.Fisher with his daughter Amelia Newstead taking over as the proprietor and provider in July 2020, ensuring Grangewood remains a family run business that is not part of a group or chain.

About Grangewood Lodge Residential Home

Grangewood Lodge residential home is the result of skilful conversion of a Georgian period country lodge and adjoining coach house and stables. A further built extension has been added to provide in all, 34 single rooms, 1 double room (10 have showers ensuite) and 1 ensuite companion room; all mainly at ground floor level (7 rooms only on the first floor).

The home is set in the National Forest and quiet countryside of South Derbyshire close to the villages of Overseal, Netherseal and Lullington and stands within 5 acres of it’s own grounds and mature gardens.

Special features include a Victorian walled garden with patio area and resident’s walk ( with hand rail) for the more energetic and a nature reserve where our wild bird sanctuary is under continual development.

Grangewood Lodge presents a picture of an old country manor and leisured life style offering care, comfort and security to all who live there.

Furnished and well equipped in a style that reflects the period atmosphere of the main property with continually upgraded decoration and facilities this frequently recommended home offers a relaxed, friendly and homely environment, comfortable and spacious accommodation and most important of all, good quality care from experienced and professionally trained staff.

There is a highly fashionable hairdresser and chiropody salon and special observation has been made for dementia care, with the provision of a pub called the Tiny Tavern, Reminiscence Room, Gallery Square, Memory Lane, Sensory Street and Dignity Row, where pictures and stimulation enhance the life of those living with dementia.
